The Nuts and Bolts of a Great Move

At J. D. Carton Metro our people are our strength. New trucks and shiny equipment do not mean anything unless an expert team is handling your move. Our project team starts with our project managers and front line supervisors (shown above). This group has successfully relocated many companies and data centers. The experience of our project team will be a large asset to you, before and during your relocation. Planning, attention to detail, flexibility, troubleshooting, and move management are all action items that we take very seriously. Each relocation is unique and we will dedicate a project manager to you to make sure your move is a smooth one.

Behind our project managers and supervisors is the rest of our relocation team. Each employee is trained in our office, lab, and computer moving techniques. Years of experience in commercial relocation have helped us develop the best practices and methods for moving your company. We use this knowledge to develop our high quality standards which are strictly enforced and constantly updated. Our team’s ability to provide high quality work is a result of having low employee turn over and of not using temporary labor sources. It is a frequent practice in the moving industry to hire day labor or pull men from the union hall to staff an office move- a practice we do not believe in. All of our crews will be in uniform and are experienced in their particular job function.

The tools of our industry start with our trucks and also include items such as dollies, computer bins, building protection, library carriers, panel carts, and communication devices. There are a lot of movers who claim to be office moving companies but they are not. They rely on rented trucks and rented moving equipment to attempt their moves. The result is missed time lines, product and building damage, cost overruns and disastrous moves.

We use only the best tools for each corporate relocation. We own all of our equipment. Our vehicles include twenty five (25) air-ride straight trucks, four (4) utility trucks, and two (2) fourteen seat passenger vans. We own hundreds of dollies and computer bins along with 200 library carts. In addition, we own a lateral file crane (spider crane) and 5,000 plastic moving boxes (rent-a-crates). Our drivers, foremen, and supervisors all use Nextel phones for swift communication along with Motorola two way radios.
